Privacy policy

This notice describes the current Jambies Practice Hub and its controlled testing features. Features described as planned are not yet available to every user. We will update this notice before introducing materially different data uses.

Who is responsible?

Kabushiki Kaisha Worldwise is responsible for Jambies school, student, parent/family and textbook-related personal information. Its representative is Brian Shepherd, Chief Executive Officer. Kevin Crowley provides development, hosting coordination, maintenance and technical support on Worldwise's behalf.

Worldwise's contact address is 2078 Ogasawara, Minami-Alps-shi, Yamanashi 400-0306, Japan. For privacy questions, access, correction, export or deletion requests, call 055-283-5421. A parent or guardian may contact us on a child's behalf. We may need to verify your relationship to the account before providing or deleting information.

Information used and why

• Account information: managed testing uses an adult-controlled email address and authentication information to sign in, recover access and apply account permissions. Supabase provides authentication. When you use Google sign-in, the basic Google account identity information authorized on its consent screen will be used for sign-in; the app does not currently request Gmail, contacts or Drive access.
• Practice information: selected activities, answers, progress, points, settings and recording metadata are used to run practice and resume work. Current demo progress is stored in that browser; it is not a promise of cross-device synchronization. Demo names, rosters and dashboards may be examples rather than real records.
• Voice recordings: microphone access is requested for recording activities. Audio is used for playback and, when speech checking is enabled, transcription and feedback. The app does not continuously listen outside its recording workflow, although a microphone may remain open between nearby prompts during an active practice round.
• Technical information: hosting and backend services receive connection information such as IP addresses and request details. Authentication identifiers, request counts and audio-size totals help protect services and enforce usage limits.
• Support information: details you provide when asking for help are used to respond and resolve the request. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary information about children.

Children and adult involvement

Parents or guardians should manage access and supervise use. During development, use adult-controlled test accounts and avoid entering real children's personal information. Assigned character birthdays in activities are fictional learning prompts; they are not requests for a child's date of birth. Worldwise is responsible for the parent/school notices and consent arrangements before real-student use.

Speech services and other providers

The current speech-checking implementation sends a short recording through a protected Supabase function to OpenAI for transcription. The app compares the returned text with the expected words. Our speech-analysis function does not itself save the recording or transcript, but that does not mean every service involved has zero retention. Provider processing and logging are governed by their service terms and account configuration.

Supabase supports authentication and backend services; Hostinger hosts the website. OpenAI supports speech transcription and some generated model audio. ElevenLabs is used to prepare approved character/model voices and may serve generated model audio where configured; the student speech-checking path does not send student recordings to ElevenLabs. School settings can enable or disable speech checking. Do not use a recording feature until the supervising adult has reviewed the applicable notice. This application does not include open-ended AI chat for children. Worldwise does not sell student recordings or use them for advertising.

Storage, retention and deletion

Demo progress and preferences remain in browser storage until cleared. Some completed Learn recordings are saved in that browser's IndexedDB for the demo's teacher/admin review; they can remain after closing the page. Other playback recordings are temporary. On a shared device, other people using the same browser profile may see demo information. Clearing this site's browser data removes those local saves and may permanently remove progress.

Managed account records remain in the backend until removed through account administration; they are separate from browser storage. Contact Worldwise for requests concerning account records. Specific production retention periods, private recording storage and export arrangements are still being finalized before real-student launch. We do not claim an automatic deletion schedule that has not been implemented. Service-provider logs and backups may follow separate retention arrangements.

Cookies, device storage and public pages

The app uses browser storage for sessions, progress and preferences. The public introduction and legal pages do not require an account and do not load the practice app or an advertising analytics script. The current app does not include third-party advertising trackers. Hosting services may still keep access/security logs.

Access, security and changes

Managed account features use role-based access controls. The current no-login development demo is not a private student-account service and must not be treated as one. A search-engine exclusion is not access protection. We will update this notice as the managed service and its data arrangements are introduced. Material changes to personal-information uses will be communicated before those changes apply.
